About Us

 To say the least The Half Ton Horns had a whirlwind beginning. Little did we know when we started out what a funk and soul monster we were creating. Originally named LB5 & The Half Ton Horns, from the very first downbeat this 11-piece horn band knew they had something special. We have recently added a dynamic female vocalist that brings years of experience and musicality to this explosive group of musicians.
Playing Funk, Soul, Rhythm, and Roll we enjoy bringing to audiences the best in funk, soul, dance and party music. Artists like Tower of Power, Stevie Wonder, KC & The Sunshine Band, Michael Jackson, AWB, and Earth, Wind & Fire have a distinctive influence on the music The Half Ton Horns play. And if that's not enough, on the set list there are always several rock and roll favorites and beautiful ballads for dancing with that someone special. The band is comprised mainly of local music teachers and music professionals from the Rochester, NY area.
