Sheldon Tripi (Bass)
|
|
Sheldon started playing bass at age 13, by listening to Iron Maiden. He played along to recordings of Steve Harris until his fingers bled. He went on to high school, where he began to play in musicals which led to the jazz band. From there, he studied classical bass through college. He became interested in jazz and funk, which changed a lot of influences for him in terms of bass styles. Sheldon listened to numerous funk and jazz players to broaden his walking and thumb technique. Victor Wooten, Steve Bailey, and Oteil Burbridge, have changed the way he approaches music. Some of the bands he has played with are: Bob Prong, Communication Breakdown (Zeppelin tribute), Abby's Cafe, and The Nate Rawls Band. Currently he plays with The Half Ton Horns, The Brad Batz Group, and LongTripJonny(original band).
